CLASS 10

Have you ever eaten in a foreign restaurant? Where? What did you eat? Did you make any mistakes? Please explain your experience. Did you learn anything?

Yes, I have. When I was in America, I went to a restaurant with some friends. We knew that we have to leave some money as a tip on the table. But it was the first time we went to the restaurant and when we get our check we found there already contained service charges. We didn't know whether we have to give the waiter a tip or not. So we waited for a family who was sitting at the next table leaving. When we found there was no money left their table, we left there.
In the class, I learned that there were a lot of table manners in each country. If I don't know the right manner, I will be rude. I found that it's important to know each contry's table manners. I want to eat more freely though...

"Tip" is very difficult, I agree. I always ask my American friends to count, but they are even a little confused. Last time when I eat in American restaurant, I got really really bad service. My friend and I were very angry. And before we left there, we talked about tip. We first decided not to leave tip, but...we came to feel bad a little bit. So we finall left tip. Of course not so much! I hated that waiter!!!

Tip is really difficult for me, too. I always confuse how much should I leave money as a tip.
